Meet Kimberlea!

When Kimberlea was first exploring what she wanted to be when she grew up, she was convinced she was going to be an accountant. Less than 30-seconds in front of a ledger on her first day of university gave her IMMEDIATE clarity (translation: she panicked) and quickly decided to leave the numbers to the pros and focus on people instead. And this was an excellent choice.

Kim has grown her career in the world of People & Culture as an executive leader in corporate environments, as an entrepreneur, and as a consultant.

In 2019, Kim founded Kolmeta People & Culture Partners Inc. when she realized just how lucky she was to have experienced a point in her corporate career in which she really loved her job. She realized she was the exception - not the rule - to how most people move through their working careers. Now more than ever, this continues to be a significant issue in the employment landscape. Kim was driven to support leaders in organizations to create better employee experiences and business outcomes on a global scale. Kolmeta’s brand has now become synonymous with Kim’s positive energy, her unique way of understanding who people are at the core and what drives them, her ability to create clarity and balance for organizations and their leaders as they develop, pivot, or evolve, and her passion for connecting business strategy to people practices.

Kim has led the creation and implementation of numerous leading-edge people & culture tools for small start-ups and large enterprises across multiple industries in Canada and the United States including recruitment initiatives, talent development programs, leadership advancement strategies, and technology platforms. She is a sought-after international speaker and consultant to the talent and business community and has been invited to contribute at world-class events for companies such as LinkedIn, MediaCorp, numerous professional designation associations, Universities including Harvard Business School, University of Calgary, and more. She holds professional designations of Registered Professional Recruiter (R.P.R.), Certified Leadership Coach (C.L.C.), Associate Certified Coach (A.C.C.) and is an internationally published writer with her works printed in digital copy in Canada and the United States and in paperback/hardcover in Canada and the United Kingdom. Kim also volunteers her time generously to the intellectual advancement of Canada's post-secondary student population in the form of mentorship.

When she’s not collaborating with her team and with clients, Kim has a pretty clear equation for designing her best days: her husband Sean + their dog Eddie. Add in some friends, family, great food, an outdoor cardio-based activity and some sunshine, and Kim is all smiles.

Through Kolmeta, and through her partnerships, Kim is committed to helping individuals and organizations achieve their most audacious goals. She believes relentless innovation, genuine connections, and transparency will change global talent practices for the better.

Kim has been one of our valued clients from Calgary since 2018 and has become an incredible resource and friend to the whole EMMYDEVEAUX family!

5 Reasons I love EMMYDEVEAUX

  • Blazers and jeans are the crux of my personal style - and EMMYDEVEAUX makes the best fitting, most stylish, and most versatile blazers and jackets on the market. Fun fact - this is how I met Emily - I bought the 10th Carlyle on EMMYDEVEAUX’s first “FundIt”. I wrote her a personalized note with her order, she wrote me back and we’ve been great friends ever since.

  • My closet is a “look good, feel good” capsule of gorgeous and easy to wear day-to-night pieces because of EMMYDEVEAUX. I can literally travel with a carry-on everywhere I go and still have endless combos of outfits from my ED pieces.

  • I’m so interested in how entrepreneurs develop their innovative ideas. It’s one thing to have an idea but it’s quite another to be courageous enough to implement it. I love EMMYDEVEAUX’s agile, innovative approach to understanding what their customers want in an interactive way through FUNDIT. I also love their unique approach to revitalizing the traditional life cycle of clothing through the BUYBACK program.

  • The quality is *chef’s kiss* crazy good. That Carlyle I mentioned earlier looks just as brand new after 5 years as the day I bought it!

  • I think I love EMMYDEVEAUX as much as I do largely because of the people behind the brand. Emily is a genuinely wonderful person and an incredible friend. Her incredible team is a brilliant reflection of her values. I’m honored to wear a brand that’s run by great people who endlessly innovate in business and show such care for each other personally. (Surprise: the HR consultant likes people..haha)
